TWO DAY TEACHER TRAINING COURSE

This course is designed for those who wish to develop their understanding and skill in teaching mindfulness or add to an established set of skills in their professional practice. 

 

Course aims:

 

  • Provide a foundation for mindfulness teaching for those new to the practice, and to strengthen and refresh the practice of those who have some previous experience.

 

  • Introduce you to a range of skill and techniques that you can integrate into your mindfulness teaching.

 

  • Introduce you to some of the fundamental teachings that underpin mindfulness teaching practices.

 

 

The course will involve some preparation for each day. Details will be provided once you have booked your place.

 

The following is an overview of each day:

 

Day 1: 

 

  • The elements of mindfulness/Exploring Mindfulness and Meditation

  • What are we trying to achieve in teaching mindfulness?

  • Facilitating Meditation Practice

  • Facilitating Enquiry

  • Teaching Techniques and Tips

The day will be punctuated by mindfulness meditation practices.

Day 2: 

 

In day 2, you will get the opportunity to:

 

  • Give a short talk on mindfulness and gain feedback.

  • Guide a short meditation and gain feedback.

  • Lead an enquiry and gain feedback.

We will also explore how you might take the next steps into facilitating mindfulness meditation.

The course will be run by Michael Atkinson, Director of School of Mindfulness, who has 20 years experience in mindfulness practices, and who is a professional teacher educator in Higher Education.

 

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
